Hole stone ring in bronze.

The ring is made of bronze and what inspired me to this design was so-called holed rock or erosion rock. We all know holed stones from aquariums or from the sea. These are stones that are interrupted by holes of different sizes and these stones also appear very soft and smooth because they are slightly polished by the constant water washing around them. These stones are the source of inspiration for my holed rock rings. The individual holes are made by hand in the material, so that each ring has different holes and each ring is unique.

I would be happy to package the ring in a jewelry box for you, so that you can give it as a gift or as a nice way for you to store it. Bronze jewelry tends to oxidize over time, i.e. tarnish. It becomes darker or slightly greenish. To prevent this for as long as possible, you should make sure to keep your jewelry as clean and dry as possible. The cause of the oxidation is that the metal reacts with the surrounding air or with the acid and moisture of the skin. The oxidation and formation of black oxide and green patina is completely normal and not harmful, but depending on your taste it may look "antique" or a little unsightly. This green patina is often incorrectly referred to as verdigris. The green coloring is caused by the formation of salts from organic acids and is a surface layer that basically has a protective effect on the metal and prevents it from erosion. Contrary to popular belief, this patina is not harmful to health, neither if swallowed nor on the skin, unless there is an allergy. The oxidation layer that may form on your piece of jewelry and make it darker or slightly greenish can be easily rubbed away with a silver cleaning cloth. If that is not enough, I recommend an old toothbrush with a little toothpaste. Rub the jewelry gently with it and then rinse with lukewarm water.
